I’m a mother of two children and have lived in Tamworth all my life. I’m very concerned about the cuts imposed by the Tory led government on the families in Glascote. As a mother I’m horrified by the cuts to Sure Start and the Early Years facilities in the area. When times are hard and wages are squeezed, families need more support not less.

I know how important clean public toilets are, and so was really annoyed with the Tory Council cutting the service, especially in the Castle Grounds which are used by families, young people and visitors all year round. I worked with Carol Dean, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate and other Labour colleagues to set up a petition to ask the Council to think again.

I’m also worried about the lack of affordable housing in Tamworth. We should be building more homes for local people, not being dictated to by property developers who just want to make a profit.

As your Labour councillor I am continuing to work with my Labour colleagues to make Glascote and Tamworth a better place for families and all our futures.
